Implementation

Our implementation teams work closely with your staff to ensure a seamless transition to the SigmaCare® solution. We tailor each implementation project for your facility’s unique workflow and processes to significantly reduce staff interruption.

Facility Assessment and Workflow Analysis
As part of the S.C.O.R.E – SigmaCare Orientation Readiness Engagement – Program, the SigmaCare team works alongside departments such as Activities, Administration, Admissions, Nursing, Medical Services, Pharmacy, Dietary, Rehabilitation and Social Services to get a complete view of the daily functions of the facility. We not only observe the daily activities of these departments, but also demonstrate SigmaCare’s functionality to the staff, in an effort to obtain direct feedback so system enhancements and risks can be identified early on.

The SigmaCare team reviews all applicable staffing needs and determines system requirements for every role and clinical discipline in the facility. The team reviews the facility's policies and procedures and documents facility information such as rooms by building and unit, physician and user information, common physician orders for building libraries, and CNA assignments documented on flow sheets.

Integration and Conversion
SigmaCare works closely with any affiliated vendors, pharmacies or partners, so we may achieve the highest level of interoperability with your system. For example, by using SigmaCare’s proprietary Resident Data Exchange (RDX) software, we can create a real-time link with existing billing or resident management software to eliminate redundant data entry. Also, we will work with the facility to implement a bi-directional data exchange between SigmaCare and the facility's laboratory, radiology provider, regional hospital, and institutional pharmacy.

Setup and Configuration
Following a comprehensive technical and workflow process evaluation, we will implement a fully-configurable, enterprise-grade secure wireless infrastructure at the facility including redundant high-speed Internet access. Our team will configure the SigmaCare system in accordance with the facility’s workflow and administrative requirements.

Secure, wireless, and rugged PDAs will allow clinicians to access medical records on the go with the ability to enter orders or chart information at bedside or anywhere in the facility. Medication and treatment carts will be equipped with secure, wireless, and rugged laptops with touch screens to facilitate medication and treatment administration. Rugged equipment allows disinfection of the hardware for infection control and because the devices are durable they can withstand drops and water spills. Desktop PCs will be configured on every nursing station and within every department to enable clinical management for managers. Physicians will have the ability to securely approve orders and access medical records remotely from a standard web browser or cellular "smart phone."

Upon completion, we will schedule go-live activities and develop a custom training program.
